Orson Scott Card has a wonderful ***?ries you might enjoy. It is ***?t in the U.S. “that might have been” in the mid 1800’s.
It’s called The Tales of Alvin Maker.
The first ****?k is called ***?venth Son.
Give it a try, you’ll really enjoy it.

I really like George R.R. Martin, the ***?me of Thrones ***?ries. Also, for Historical fiction, the Rome ***?ries by Colleen McCullough is awesome. I know it’s not medevil, ****? they are the best historical fiction ***?ries. It starts with ‘The first man in Rome’. Hope this helps!

I’m not into sci-fi, ****? for historical fiction, check Bernard Cornwell.

You may like Christopher Stasheff. His ****?ks are a bit more sci-fi and less history, ****? they deal a bit more with the meaning of being a christian during midevil ***?mes. I particularly recommend the Wizard in Rhyme ***?ries. The first ****?k “Her Majesties Wizard is about a literature student who finds himself in a midevil European ***?tting where poetry has the power of magic. Along the way he encounters a princess, a drunken dragon, and a priest who turns into a werewolf whenever he has impure thoughts.

Another ***?ries of his ****?ks includes The Warlock of Gramarye This ***?t deals with an ***?tronaught who lands on a planet and is mistaken for a magical being because of his technology.

Of course if your up for a ****?d read, you could always check out Sir Thomas Malory’s definitive Le Morte D’Arthur - This ****?k is the definitive legend of King Arthur from before his birth, to pulling the Sword in the Stone and becoming king, to his death.

  9. Laura Says:

George RR Martin–A Song of Ice and Fire (someone mentioned this earlier…but they said ‘Game of Thrones,’ which is the first ****?k, ****? not the ***?ries name)

Scott Lynch–The Lies of Locke Lamora (Book 1 of the Gentleman ******* ***?ries, Lynch’s debut, ****? it is excellent)

I’d also suggest getting copies of the Legends anthologies, which are composed of short novellas by some of the masters of modern ***?ntasy–Martin, Pratchett, Card, McCaffery, Le Guin, Jordan, etc., etc., that way you could ***?e which writers you like without having to start a whole new ***?ries.

  10. chereeboyle Says:

Patricia Kenneally Morrisson, she does a lot of mediaevil ***?ntasy stuff, ****?d stuff too.

All the other answers notwithstanding, I think your best bet is to go to Baen’s ****?ks on the web and sign up. From there you can go to Baen’s Bar or the chat room and other sights including reading free e-books. And ***? an added bonus many of the authors’ who write some of the ****?ks you are looking for also go either to the ‘bar’ or to the chat room. There is even a forum where you can ***?k questions and get answers from other ***?ople and from the authors’. Enjoy!
