I have writers block, help?

Okay, I’m writing a book, and I’m lost. I have horrible writers block, and I don’t know what to do… any ideas??

Whatever you do, don’t force it. Or if you do, go back to what you wrote later and see how you feel about it. Anything forced out shouldn’t necessarily be permanent.

You could wait a week or two, go that long without looking at the story, and go back. See if anything happens.

Writer’s block is a tricky thing to overcome. Good luck.

It might help to add a random character or to unexpectedly kill a character off. Go to nanowrimo.org and check out some of their forums.

Gosh I hate it when that happens!

Try looking at the story from a different point of view, or just go work on another project until you have a new idea. Going for a walk always helps me. Just looking around and people watching. A great excersize is to look at people and make up a story for who they are and why they are there. Another thing I like to do is to listen to music, decipher the lyrics, and write a short story based on the lyrics. Who knows, maybe you can apply this to your project. Good luck! Hope you figure that out soon!

I think adding a random character is a good idea, or killing one off is good too. I also suggest drinking hot chocolate and write at the same time. Dunno why but it always helps me. Don’t force the writing, a good idea will come eventually. Also, you should read other books and see if you can come up with a plot twist. I find that when I’ve got writer’s block, it’s usually because the story has become dull.
