Try closing your eyes and in a relaxing area and writing down 10 words that first come to mind. Take these words and form them into either sentences or paragraphs (depending on how well this works), using different themes such as comedy, romance, mystery or horror. I hope this is of some use.

This happens to me on occasion. For inspiration, I do my daily DUI (dildo usage inquiry) search on the advanced search engine. Sometimes I don't answer and only star questions of interest. If all else fails, I head over to the Newborn & Babby section and hit on the moms.

1. Get some sleep
2. Anything interesting that you see around you or outside write down, could easily be used as settings.
3. Get outside a lot, when I am outside and I see something happen it gets me to think.

What I do when I can't think of anything is get on a bus and stare out a window, when I do that it helps me think, but whatever helps you think is best for you.

I agree with Gavin- get some sleep since you think your mojo has disappeared with lack of sleep. Writers block is a normal thing that's sort of hard to get rid of. I suggest you listen to lyrics of a favorite type of music or look for inspiration outside in the world. Reading favorite pieces of literature is also a good idea.

~Good luck!

Right now, you're most likely thinking too hard about your story. My advice to you is to do the opposite. Leave your story alone for a couple of days without thinking about it. Then, if some sort of idea just pops up, continue and do your best. Never force yourself. Good luck!

Your question is self answering. Start by getting some sleep. If that does not work, I suggest visiting some places you played as a child. Imagination is the key. Plenty of rest and revisiting those places of inspiration.

Get some sleep first, although I've written decent stuff exhausted.
There are many ways. You might try writing about events from your life in a fictional manner. I just wrote a short story based upon a question in Yahoo answers. Reading also stimulates me, especially reading poetry.
Let your imagination run wild - you can always refine it later.
