Break a non-rhyming poem into stanzas? Do the number of lines need to be exact in each stanza?

    If it is free verse, no, the stanzas just have to make sense to you and the reader. In fact, a stanza could be one line if you wish it to be.

    Think of where you might want a longer pause between verses, or where a thought naturally ends and another begins.
    If this is a tradtional form of poetry, you should follow the rules set down by that form. If you wish, you could post the poem here and take suggestions.
    Breaking a poem into stanzas should add impact to your poem.
