When I started writing my novel, I began with a web chart of what I want in my book, the main points, main characters, etc. I just sat and brainstormed. For example, make a bubble on a piece of paper with the words “MAIN CHARACTERS” inside. Then, make little arrows leading off to smaller bubbles with the main characters’ names inside. From there, even more little arrows leading off from the characters’ bubbles to other bubbles describing them. You can do a lot with charts like these. Several of mine had title bubbles that said “MAIN PLOT” and “SETTING” and stuff like that. I would suggest doing a chart like this (or whatever brainstorming idea works for you) before you begin the actual writing of you book. This will also keep you motivated to write because you know what you’re going to write about, instead of sitting around trying to come up with ideas and then getting bored of that and giving up.

I hope this helps! Good luck! :)
