The fact that you’re focusing on getting ideas is what’s causing the trouble, you’re only stressing yourself out which is making it worse. What you need to do is forget about writing for a little while, just go take a walk or hang out with some friends, if you give your mind a break inspiration will come on its own. Good luck with your writing!Hope I helped!

I personally love to write and have found if you think about writing nothing comes to you, so just have some fun or relax awhile and ideas should come to you.
    I hope this helps!

MOst of the time when I get stuck on a story, it’s because I need to get the protagonist to do something or go somewhere–and whatever I come up with seems dumb or out of character. When that happens it’s good to have a local writing group you can bounce ideas off of. If you don’t have a writing group, Yahoo/Answers might work. The trouble with that is most people here don’t think like writers–but who knows they may come up with a genius idea. If that fails, I usually have the bad guys blow somthing up close to my protagonist. That usually creates a plot twist that spins the story off in another direction. Of course, this plot device is a little difficult if you’re writing a romance. But the trick to to take you best (least dumb) option and keep on writing. When you’re finished, your editor may have a suggestion to fix the problem area.

What about a walk.Just a simple walk through town. Then find somewhere like a bench to sit back and watch what the world around is producing.

what i usually do is find sites that have challenges and try to write on them, or ask a friend to collaborate with you
