um, don’t you have to go to school for all of this before you can get such a job? kids love harry potter. that’s my best advice. our fourth grade teacher read it to us and we ate it up.

Do you have a degree in Education or English? Are you qualified for this position? Are there colleagues that you can talk with about this?
Your question seems to be too broad for someone who needs a few suggestions.

One way to get young kids to write creatively is to first get them to write about themselves. Give them a notebook to keep and don’t write in it yourself. When you want to make corrections and edit, do it on sticky notes. Get them to write about simple moments in time that mean a lot to them (like riding a roller coaster for the first time). Once they’ve grown accustomed to writing about themselves and adding interesting details (through synonyms, similes, metaphors, adjectives, adverbs, etc.), you can move onto creative writing. Students can take something that really happened and incorporate fiction.
