how do I create suspense in a short piece of creative writing?
it can be on any idea I want, and I have no idea how to use writing techniques in a way that creates suspense.

Since its gonna be short, hook people from the beginning by starting it off with suspense, and add in more details as you go along.
A plot twist would definitely help as well.
