How did Agatha Christie play into the development of mystery writing and detective fiction?
I need credible sources to put in my paper.

For the same reason that Elvis Presley is called
the King, Dame Agatha Christie is called the
Queen of Crime. She was prolific, wrote over 80
detective novels, and her style was well received,
she set the bar for other authors.

You might want to check Agatha Christie’s official site: – she is considered “The Queen of Crime.” She was one of the first who wrote the classic “whodunnit” mysteries and her books have become the quintessential murder mysteries that set the bar for others. She is, in a sense, “The” classic mystery writer; one who made mystery novels a part of popular culture.
From
“Agatha Christie is the world’s best-known mystery writer. The Guinness Book of Records listed her as the best-selling fiction author of all time with an estimated two billion copies of her works sold; a billion copies in the English language and another billion in over 45 foreign languages. It is often said that she is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare.”
