Historical fiction/nonfiction?
I have to read one fiction novel and one nonfiction writing for a world history ap class… any good suggestions?
I’m currently thinking about reading Fire from Heaven for my fiction and Plagues and Peoples for my nonfiction… are those good books? They have to be legitimate historical stuff but they also have to be interesting because there is no way I’ll be able to do it if they aren’t…

I have Plagues and Peoples. I like it, but it’s a little tough to get through at some points. Not familiar with Fire From Heaven.
My all-time favorite historical fiction book is The Heaven Tree by Edith Pargeter. It was written in 1961, but it’s still a really good story that takes place during the 12th century on the English-Welsh border. You can get it at the library, but I think they still sell it. The author later became very popular writing under the name Ellis Peters for her medieval monk-detective crime series, the Brother Cadfael series.
A good nonfiction book is The Lion of Ireland about Brian Boru.
