Consider what your writing was like when you began the year. What are some lessons you learned? Do you find it easier to create well-focused paragraphs? What was your biggest strength/weakness as a writer at the beginning of the year? What are your strengths/weaknesses now?
I can’t tell you, for I have been battling with it myself for quite some time now. I can tell you what I do though. My most recent attempt at actually finishing a book is I got my main idea(from a random scene in my head) and from that, I wrote down several supporting ideas that are still big parts of the book. Then I select a random idea, whichever one appeals to me at that specific time, and I try to write around 1,000 words about it. If none of the ideas appeal to me, I put the list down and do something else, and then pick the list back up later. I can always change an idea, add new ideas, or decide not to use an idea at all. Hope this helps.

Write about problems you’ve overcomed with your writing.
