Length comes from details, telling details of setting, but especially of *character*.

It can be proven mathematically that adding characters makes stories geometrically more complex. A single character, you only have the character’s internal world. Two characters, you have two sets of feeling to explore. But with three characters, you have *six*: How Andy feels about Betty, how Betty feels about Andy, how Betty feels about Carlos, how Carlos feels about Betty, how Andy feels about Carlos, and how Carlos feels about Betty.

And so on, and so on… So my first advice would be to add another character or two to the mix, and see how that influences the story.

    Good luck!

You have been given excellent advice. Adding a charactor as more detail and may put you over a thousand or so words. Think about your environment as well. If is just a flash. you may only have room for a room. A certain place. Think of adding to that environment. Its hard to tell you how to add to a story without seeing it. However, I wrote a flash about 150 words and now its well over 5oo words by adding atmosphere and one extra character, good luck with this story.
