Does anyone know where i can get a list of publishers who accept unsolicitied manuscipts?

I am trying to get a book that I have written published and i am coming up to the same barrier of publishers not accepting unsolicited manuscripts, how am i supposed to be given a chance? Was wondering if anyone can help and provide a list of publishers (pref in UK) who DO accept unsolicited manuscripts or new authors?? My book is fantasy/adventure fiction for older children or adults (sort of Harry Potter style)
Please help I would be so grateful as I have worked so hard

  1. Maryn Bittner Says:

Here’s a list of all the publishers who accept unsolicited manuscripts:

    That was easy.

In the UK, as in the US, there are indeed publishers who deal directly with authors, and who consider works submitted by authors who have never before published, but you never, ever send them your manuscript unsolicited–which means un-asked for.

Instead, you identify which publishers do consider unagented submissions by using Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook, and of those, which seek fantasy/adventure for the YA reader. Write a one-page query letter attempting to interest them in your book. Enclose a seld-addressed stamped envelope. If you query is good, some will ask to see all or part of the manuscript–making it solicited.

  2. JAMES K Says:

Contact the Literary Agents Guild and ask about an Agent in your area who is currently accepting manuscripts from new, unestablished Authors.
That is the way to do it.

Simple to utilise hyperlinks that will assist with all your research needs, try typing a keyword or two into the search engine and see what happens.
