Does any one know of a good Short Story by a British Writer?
I’m writing an extended essay for english and I’m in 11th grade. I need to find a short story that I can write about and that has critical essays about it. Thanks.
Part of the assignment is to consult critical essays, so I do need critical essays on it.

Isn’t it better to write about one that DOESN’T have critical essays about it?
Crusader’s Toby
Humblepuppy (both by Joan Aiken) are wonderful short stories.
Eleanor Farjeon’s Faithful Jenny Dove is also a good bet.

Wilfred Owen was a soldier in ww1 and he wrote while he was at war. Really good stuff. Look him up and find something you like.

Read “The Celestial Omnibus” by E.M. Forster. It’s very satirical, intriguing, and entertaining.

Ok she was from New Zealand, but she spent most of her adult life in England.
Her most famous book was The Garden Party
