Could you recommend some good Christian fiction authors?
I really enjoy Lynn Austin, Linda Nichols, and Janette Oke. These are my favorites…who else would you recommend? Thanks!

CS Lewis is, hands down, one of the best writers ever, but also one of the most consistent writers as far as alluding to Christianity in all of his work. It’s crazy to go back and read all of the Chronicle of Narnia series and find the Biblical references.

Chronicles of Narnia- C.S. Lewis.
Yes, they are directed at children, but as a young adult or adult you may find the meanings behind the stories intriguing.
Also, I know you didn’t ask for non-fiction but you might really enjoy these:
“The Great Divorce” by C.S. Lewis (Directed at adults, it’s told as a story, very, very well done)
“Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis
“The Jesus I Never Knew” by Philip Yancey

My mother adores Jan Karon - and I think she’s similar to the authors you’ve mentioned.
I loved the Joshua series by Joseph Girzone. Incredibly inspirational and quick, compelling, moving reads. (I don’t recommend the movie. At least not before reading the books.)

There’s a series my sister-in-law loves the Daughters of Lancaster County series by Wanda E. Brunstetter.
I second the nominations of Frank Perretti (he’s also a really great guy if you watch the one movie based on his work, Hangman’s Curse).
Also, C.S. Lewis. I highly reccomend Till We Have Faces. Most people don’t think of this book, and I think it’s absolutly his best.

If you are looking for a good Christian fiction author, Try reading any Books by Grace Livingstone Hill. She wrote many books and short stories with a real Christian favor, that are always great to read any time, even if the characters and stories could be from another time or era.
If you can’t find her books at the library try a Christian Book Store, or on-line. Good Luck
