Could I make a living on a Creative Writing degree?
I am a freshman in high school and I want to be a writer. Any advice as to what major I should follow. Poetry is on my list along with novels. But some sites say that you can’t make a living on such a degree. I’ve recently looked into graphic design but I’m not sure. Any colleges that are really good in these fields are welcome in your answer.

If you have a talent for writing, the rest is easy. Don’t focus on learning to write, but on practicing that innate talent. I would choose a career that allows you more latitude; i.e. if you become a journalist, you will have experiences to write about. If you join the medical field you can write medically-based novels. See what I mean? I don’t believe anyone without natural talent can become a good writer, but anyone with an expertise can use that experience to make their natural skills shine.
