Hasan A. Yahya, Ph.D

This story is from Baghdad,  the story is similar to old Arabian Nights stories, a king wished for himself to build a ***?cret hiding place for himself, to ***?cure himself in case of revolt. The King was a frugal man, and ****?ting the job done, he was a stingy ***?rson, where he will not give generously to the hiding place builder. He ***?cured the ***?rvices of a ****?r ***?mous philosopher, builder called Sinimmar who newly on his own after years of apprenticeship to another King.

In order that the hiding place might know how to get at the palace, should he be inclined to be with the revolt ***?ople, he should keep the ***?cret.  — the King waited until Simimmar completed the palace.

So it was, that Sinimmar knew the ***?cret of the king., ****? did not tell thee king of the ***?cret of the palace. Which stone might lead to conquer the palce by revolt ***?ople. After completing the palace, Sinimmar was with the King on the top of the tower, in that moment, the king ***?ked Sinimmar, about the weakest side of the palace and the less ***?cure to defend himself in case a revolution against him takes place. The King offers Sinimmar a ton of gold if he told him. Sinimmar smiled and said:

-       Well, I can tell you more about a stone in the palace, if you remove it, the whole palace will collapse.

-       What stone? The king ***?ked Sinimmar! “ how can it protect me?

-       I will tell Your Majesty where is it and how in few ***?conds the stone moves to get in, and later the palace will ***?ll on the heads of your *****?ies.  Sinimmar walked to a big stone  in the palace, and showed it to the  king. The king was pleased with the ***?cret. To save himself from paying Sinimmar for his great work, he ***?ked him:

-       Does anyone else knows about this ***?cret? Sinimmar!

-       No! Your Majesty, I am the only one who knows about this ***?cret. The king order the guards to throw Sinimmar from the tower. In few minutes he passed away. The king, to himself said:

-       This is the *****?e of the smart builder. He forgot to protect himself by keeping the ***?cret.

What to Keep in Mind when you write Short Stories Online

Writing short stories is a genre in its own right and varies a lot from the other styles of writing. Many ***?ople have taken to writing short stories online to express themselves and explore their creativity. Like each specific style of writing, short stories have certain features that need to be kept in mind. Let’s look at these requirements in this article.

While a word count is essential when you write your story online, don’t focus too much on it. It may stunt the story and your natural style of writing. Consider the word count only when you’ve finished the first draft and you are starting to edit it.

When you write short stories online, have only a few characters. Include only those characters that are most relevant to the story. That way, you will be able to do more justice to their characterization. Also, avoid giving too much background information on these characters. Only provide information that is crucial to the development of the story.

When you write your own stories online, you do not have the luxury of using too many descriptive words. What may start ***? a short story may well end up ***? a novella if you are not careful about the amount of description and embellishment that goes into the story.

When you write your story online, you have very little room to deviate from the main plot of the story. Your short story should be crisp and ***?st paced. The events that follow through the course of the story should only include ones that are essential to the progress of the story.

Get straight to the point. Don’t spend too much ***?me to build up the story. That would be a waste of ***?me and words. Since there is a word limit, you need to get rid of the fluff. If you put too many words into the introduction and you have only a few left for the ****?max, it could ruin the effect of the story.

Omer Judgment: Short Story

Omer Judgment: Short Story

Hasan Yahya

This tale of Omar bin al-Khattab, the scond Khalifa after Abu Bakr,  in his judgment in the court: One day,

An injured  ***?rson came in to the court and told Omar: Look at my eye, someone had taken it in a fight. People in the court said: “O Omar, the man has the right, and is his eye is the evident in his side.” - “Wait a minute, we have to wait his partner in the fight, and listen to him, in order to give the right decision.” Said Omar. “Why, so. The evident is a ****?d proof.”  They were surprised. “Because, there is a probability, that the other ***?rson, may have more two eyes.”

A similar story was told in the folklore of Jews, the story was about greediness and envy among ***?ople: Once upon a ***?me, there was a wise king, he had two close ministers, he knows one ***? envious ***?rson, and the other is greedy. One night, he ****?ted to test their ***?lfishness and greediness. He  ***?ked them to wish something he will grant to them, ****? he added that if one ***?k first, the ***?cond will have double of what the first wished for. Both ***?rsons hesitated to begin because the ***?cond will have double of the wish of the first. After a while, the greedy ***?rson  insisted that the envious ***?rson to be the first to wished,  the envious man said: - “I ****?t, your majesty,   to pluck out one of my eyes.”

 What do you learn?

Sound judgment is the essence of court systems, that’s in theory, ****? what we ***?e these days, that human rights of citizens are violated, unfortunately by courts, for political reasons. When a court denies human rights principles, it is not a court of justice. The same may be said, about a court discriminate among ***?ople, on the bases of color, religion, or nationality, is not a court, ****? a police department or intelligent agency, where both follow orders of the political system. Whither it was capitalist or communist, or in between. Preventing courts to justly judge affairs among ***?ople or nations without listening, or at least giving both parties equal chance to explain their point of view  before giving a decision in their dispute, is demeaning to justice. Unfortunately, morality decline worldwide, contributes in the unjust practices toward others. I think a ****?d example would be taking sides for material rather than moral reasons,  or using double standards with an issue differently. The example, is the Palestinian problem, where the United States stands firm supporting colonial occupation of the holy land on one hand, and denies the same measures applied to Palestinians.

Other example, USA double standards view is dealing with Arab regimes-even though most of them are undemocratic-on the bases of supporting Ignorant unqualified leaders, stay in ruling more than fifty years on one hand, and denying to support real change in human rights, for ***?veral reasons, crowned by exploitation of resources.
