A little help with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), please?

I’m trying to write a novel for NaNoWriMo, and I think I’m on the right track in terms of characters, literary devices, etc. The one little problem is that I cannot come up with a ****?d enough plot.

The basic storyline revolves around a girl who ***?ems to feel her dead brother’s presence all around her. Her mother is developing Alzheimer’s, and she has a younger sibling. She knows that her physical and mental condition is ****?idly deteriorating (due to what: I don’t know yet), so, ***? the only able ***?rson in her whole ***?mily, she ****?ts to record a sort of account of her ***?mily history, her life, since she does not ****?t to be forgotten in the ***?ture etc. ***? ***?me passes, her ability to write becomes worse (like in “Flowers for Algernon”), and she needs to be taken care of constantly. Her younger sibling takes over her role ***? the “recorder of anecdotes”.

–This is the point at which I’m completely lost. Maybe before, I don’t know. If anyone has any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to voice them!

Post-NaNoWriMo ***?ilures?

I won my first NaNoWriMo, ****? have yet to finish my novel. I had high hopes that my novel would be close to ready for publication at this point, ****? I’ve yet to begin my ***?cond draft. I ****?ted to get the free proof copy and publish it to CreateSpace, ****? it’s looking pretty sorry at the present moment. :(
Anyone else feeling this way? Does anyone have any advice to help me get back on my feet again?

My NaNoWriMo story idea?

This is my idea for my upcoming NaNoWriMo literary *******…

An alcoholic (who doesn’t have a name yet, I’m ****?rible with names) professor at a local college drags through his life frequenting coffee shops and run down ****?kstores alike ***? his insides crumble. And it’s not from the ****?ze. By some stroke of ***?te, everytime a ***?rson on the planet dies, (name) is struck with pain inside. The closer the ***?rson is to him, the more it hurts. He must figure out how to deal with this problem and make sure nothing happens to his friends, or even worse his loved ones.

Any thoughts? Is this enough to explore in 50k words?

Also, he might have a true love, who if killed would instantly kill him.

Help with Nanowrimo? ?

Hey fellow writers! Although I’m only a ****?nager, I’m trying to do Nanowrimo this year (National Novel Writing Month). Do you have any ***?ps for a young girl trying it out her first year? Is it ****?d to plan? To tell your friends about it? To keep writing even if the story is getting really dumb instead of starting over? Thank you!
Nanowrimo is supposed to be a contest: You’re just supposed to get out 50,000 words on paper in a story that at least makes ***?mi-sense. It’s supposed to be ***?n, a let-loose-and-write-like-heck sort of month.

Who is a ****?d writer (Nanowrimo help)?

In need to write a story for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in my English class, and I’ve got writer’s block. I was wondering if anybody could give me some idea’s to help out my story. Here’s my basic storyline (well this is kind of a prologue I wrote for it):
Life isn’t ***? easy ***? it was 500 years ago. A simple task ****?h ***? crossing the street could lead to your untimely demise. The year is 2508. The stock market has completely crashed. Money ***? we know it is worth absolutely nothing. Things we used to take for granted are now our only form of ***?rrency. Due to diseases being spread throughout the air, the average lifespan of a human being is now about 40 years old, and animals have been mutilated into much bigger animals due to diseases. “The Element of One” is a story about Michael Hudson, a man with a ***?mily, struggling to survive in the wasteland formerly known ***? the United States of America.
Well i have an overall plot (listed above) ****? I just need help with some ideas to help move the plot along.

Calling all writers, readers, editors, critics, ***?ople with spare ***?me, NaNoWriMo-ers, email-ers, and generall

- generally everyone interested!

Hey, thanks for ****?cking. I’m a young writer and I was wondering if any one would be interested in creating a sort of email group to support writing and go day-by-day during ****?h events ***? NaNoWriMo and continue with any other writing throughout the year.

How this would work:

Anyone interested, please either email me at akitylasaraleen123@hotmail.com or lunaakitylasaraleen@yahoo.com or sign up by providing a valid email address below. Whenever a new ***?rson signs up, I’ll add their name to the list and ***?nd out the on-going list of email addresses to everyone who has signed up. When you’ve written something and you’d like it critiqued or you’d like an opinion or anything, ***?nd it out to everyone on the list. (Writing will likely be ***?nt out daily during ****?h events ***? NaNoWriMo by anyone participating.) When you receive an email with the bit of writing, go through it, read it, give your opinion, any mistakes you’ve found, critique it, of(cont.)
offer advice, etcetera. Please check your email often if you’d like to participate!

Hopefully this will provide a nice little community of writers and support! Hopefully we can all keep in touch! The writers can ***?nd out their writing to a nice large group of writers, readers, or critics, and receive feedback from a nice large group of writers, readers, or critics. Other writers, readers, or critics will have a nice supply of new work coming their way through email, and should have plenty of reading material! Everyone, please be honest, or this will be quite pointless, and please try to check your email at least once a week! Also, I am sure everyone would appreciate emails ***?nt out with notices about up-coming events (like NaNoWriMo and other similar events, for example), and I think it would be nice if we could rely on others in the group for advice or answers to questions if anyone needs help. Just ***?nd an email with your question to the group, and if you can help, please answer
please answer any questions you receive. I’m sure you get the idea of how this would work. The idea is, basically, a little email group of writers, readers, and others will be created, and readers will have material to read, the writers will have feedback, the ***?rious can get a nice supply of information, and those that like to help out will have questions to answer!

I’ve never done this before and I am not sure if it will work out, ****? I’d like to try! Please let me know if you are interested or if you have any ideas! All ages, styles, genres, backgrounds, etc welcome and encouraged to join. Thank you for your ***?me.

Whatever else you may know me ***?
Yes, I have many nick-names, lol. :)

(I think I am going to try to start a Yahoo Group with this… Just let me know if you’re interested! Thanks.)
1. NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. Participants attempt to write a 50,000+ word-count novel in one month. www.nanowrimo.org for more info. I hope to start it ***? soon ***? possible, and considering a few ***?ople have already expressed interest, possibly this week!

2. I realize it has a lot of flaws, it’s just a tentative idea. / I know other groups exist, ****? I’d like to start one myself. Other groups are usually quite large, and you can’t always trust everyone in them. / Like I said, you’d have to trust everyone to be honest. I guess it’s just the idea that if you steal someone’s work, they could steal yours, so if no one does it, then no one has to worry. / “However, that is a risk you have to talk when doing anything on the internet.” Exactly. Thanks for signing up!

3. Thanks!

4. Okay, thank you!

5. Hmm… I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks. / How I think it would work is you would ***?nd writing to everyone, and then they would ***?nd they’re opinions back to you, and -
- opinions back to you, and you’d have a collection of emails with different opinions that could prove useful during the editing process and when writing other things. If someone ****?ted a ***?ll critique they should probably just ***?k one ***?rson. ? / Erm, yeah, I should have said. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ***?NDING ANYTHING YOU ARE CONSIDERING PUBLISHING OUT TO A LARGE GROUP OF ***?OPLE. Also, yes, please do not post other’s work anywhere unless they have specifically stated that you may. Think about it: How would you feel if someone posted your work? This will just have to be another ***?me when ***?ople will have to trust others. / I think it’s a bit safer emailing to a group of ***?ople than posting on the internet – ***?rhaps not considerably, ****? slightly. ?. / Thanks. Yes, you’re right, lol. / Thanks for everything! I could use more advice like yours!

6. Yeah, I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.

7. Thanks.

Who thinks January would be a better month for NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month?

Not that I CAN write a novel in a month, ****? now that I think about it, I don’t know why November was chosen ***? NaNoWriMo. November may be one of the more boring months of the year, ****? it’s not the MOST boring. Sure, Canada has just Remembrance Day, ****? you Americans not only have Veteran’s Day, ****? also the Thanksgiving weekend which pretty much kicks off the Christmas ***?ason. Tell me you would rather write a ****?k than spend ***?me with your ***?mily on Thanksgiving, or go shopping on Black Friday… LOL!

Now, with January, all you have is New Year’s Day. Sure, there’s also Epiphany on the 6th, and Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday on the 15th, ****? they can’t nearly be ***? special ***? the American Thanksgiving in November. Not only that, ****? January is said to be one of the coldest months (I think the average temperature is -20 degrees Celcius, unless you live somewhere where it’s typically warm in the winter, like Arizona or the south of Florida) and the most depressing month of the year, where ***?ople would rather stay inside in front of TV than ***?ce a blizzard and/or a long cold streak.

Let’s ***?ce it, they don’t call them the “January blahs” for nothing. What better way to ****. up this month than to write an exciting novel for contest purposes, lose yourself in ***?ntasy?

On top of that, with January ***? NaNoWriMo, you have an extra day to complete your 50,000-word manuscript (31 days this month, ***? opposed to 30 in November.)

So what do you think? Wouldn’t you say that January would be a better month for this than November?

Authors (and those who would like to be), are you doing NaNoWriMo?

First, can you write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days? That’s the challenge for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

No, this is not an advertisement. I found out about this challenge last year and am ready to go again; wondering who else might be taking the plunge. If you are awaiting the beginning of the madness, answer me this…have you completed the task before? Do you have a plot in mind for your ***?ture bestseller?

If you ****?t to know what I’m talking about, check the website: www.nanowrimo.org

This is my ***?cond year, and the plot ****?nning in my head is sci fi/fantasy/paranormal. ***?e? I’m still not quite sure! Have characters in mind and bit of a plot, ****? hoping it develops more when I start typing on November 1. What about you?

Give this link a try (if you ***?e the addition to the question):

http://www.nanowrimo.org/

It could be very busy ***? the craziness has begun.

Good luck all!
