Military Fiction’
Will the U.S. military ever have a “bipedal, walking deathmobile” division?
Seriously. It would have to be tested, etc.
There’s no doubt it would have some advantages to what we have today, but would it be practical/impractical.
The idea of it is becoming less science fiction.
I say we’ll be seeing Transformers soon…
*runs*
I’m talking about Metal Gear/AT-ST (quadriped) vehicles.

Science Fiction Movie Your Thoughts and Ideas?
Space tourism is all around the universe we used to wonder about. It is through wormholes that the military continues their obsession with space. A crew on board a star ship encounter a core platform devoid of life and in area of galaxy unexplored. The platform is human design and scorched with licks of plasma. The crew dock and attach transporting the platform with them. This is when they encounter energy synced creatures………..rest of plot not fleshed out……..what do people think?
Any ideas?
I need ideas on the look and horror felt when encountering these creatures made of pure synced energy.
Thanks but do you have a reason?

Military Radio Protocol Question.
How would a radio exchange between Pvt. Salt and the tactical operations center in a combat hospital go?
Sample situation: Sgt. Pepper in the TOC needs to ask Pvt. Salt (he’s sweeping the second floor hallway) if he’s done tying yellow ribbons on all the pencils at the nurse’s station.
I have a general idea, mostly of what they are not supposed to say. Help me write accurate fiction, Yahoo! ANSWERS.

India-class submarines?
I’m currently writing my sixth military fiction book and I need information about the India-class diesel submarines built by the Soviets. I can’t find much information on GlobalSecurity or FAS.org. Any submariners out there who can give me some good information? If it makes a difference, I specialize in writing about submarine warfare.
Note: I’ve read many Tom Clancy novels. The Indias aren’t featured. Wikipedia has basically the same information that I already have.

World War III?
I was reading a question someone asked, sadely all ready resolved that i want to comment on. He asked if anyone thought world war III was still to come.
In a lot of ways we could say we are all ready fighting it.. but unlike World War 2 where it was all at once, were fighting it a little at a time.
I am a writer of military fiction and so i do a lot of looking into whats going on, where and who with.
I think a interview with Tom Clancy in 1996 still pertains today.
China is like a baby with toys. They are surrounded by them but dont know how or what to do with them. It is estimated that they can field (if they really wanted to) a army of 650 million troops.
Lets put it this way if the whoel world was on one side of the battlefield and china was on the other and everyone sent their troiops. we’d still be out numbered.
The good thing is that they dont even have enough weapons (rifles and such) to arm that many) Iran, and N. Korea are my other favorites. Iran wants oil A.H.
I ran out of space on my statment.
Iran has always been a threat to the Middle east. They want the oil. In 1994 Tom Clancy wrote “Debt of Honor” which dealt with a unstable Iraq, and Iran’s run on the oil countries. They say (proffesionals) that the only thing that is stopping Iran (now) is the US guarding Iraq.
When we were about to take out Saddam a few years ago, i made a list of what i expected to happen afterward.
1. Iran would insurgent Iraq
2. Instability in Iraq
3. US will try to keep control
4. VIETNAM 2
5. Iran uses the insurgents to keep Iraq unstable hoping the US will eventually pull out.
6 INVASION
that was created 3 years ago… i’m just waiting on number 5 and 6
N. Korea:
Everyone knows the N. wants the South. Right now I am working on revising a story i wrote 10 years ago (about Russia but starting now with N. Korea and nuclear weapons.
N. Korea probably has nukes up the wazoo. One nuke on tokyo would damage both Japan and the US response.
Imagine if all three countries started trouble at once.
Also there are some that say Germany is still a threat. Now i dont mean Nazis and taking over the world. They dont even need a army to win this one. Germany is one of the biggest economic centers in Europe. Everyone in Europe trades with them. Imagine if Germany stopped trading.
Germany trades with Britian, France, and Russia. Funny thing is that rememeber in World War 1 when Germany wanted to win? they knew if they could control the seas they could starve Britian. Britian relies too much on trade.
Thats still true today.
Shut down trade with all the countries that relie on people like Germany, you got a shut down europe.
Oh and on China.
They might have one of the biggest militaries on earth (definately troop wise) but they lack in technology. Oh they have nukes, if their stupid enough to use em.
But here’s a study on their navy.
In 1996 (and i hear it hasnt gotten much better) their best submarine was said to be 40 years behind in technology compared to the US. They said that a single US Los angelos class attack submarine could take on and eliminate the entire Chinese Navy and probably still have weapons to spare.
