Christian Fiction’

Can you help me with a title of a Christian fiction book?

I read a book a few years ago and I cannot remember the name of the book or the author. It was about a man whose father died and he left his son a (mysterious) note. The father was an archeologist in the Middle East and the son decided to go finish what his father started. I believe his wife goes with him and they meet some other characters in the Holy Land and all sorts of amazing things happen. Has anybody read this book or heard of it? Please let me know any info you might have as I really would like to read it again. Thanks!

What are some really great Christian fiction books?

I have read all of the books by Lynn Austin and Tracy Peterson. I like the Amish books, but I’m kind of tired of them. There are so many. So does anyone have any suggestions of great books in this genre? Thanks for the help in advance! :) I also like fantasy type novels, so it would be great if the two were combined, but that is asking a lot!
I have read all of the Chronicles of Narnia as well :) And the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Hobbit

Can anyone recommend some good christian fiction authors?

To give you an idea of what I am looking for, I want to give you a list of authors I have read a lot of: Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, J.K. Rowling, Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum series), Gregory Mcdonald (Fletch series), John Gardner (James Bond series), Michael Slade. If anyone can recommend authors based on my tastes indicated by the above it would be very much appreciated.

What do you think about Christian fiction?

I have some issues with Christian fiction. Most of it is poorly written. It can get preachy sometimes and then I feel guilty for not enjoying the book, which leads me to wonder if Christian fiction is kind of an oxymoron. Do books written by a Christian from a Christian worldview (but not necessarily about Christians) count as “Christian fiction”? Can anyone give examples of what they consider to be quality Christian fiction?
