Does anyone have creative ways to teach writing to third grade students?
I am ready to begin teaching my students how to write a personal narrative. However, I am having some difficulty thinking of a creative way to do this. Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated.

Does ‘creative’ writing have to be descriptive?
Does it? I’m trying to write a creative writing piece based on a battle of the bands theme, and the story of a kids dream. But im not sure where i could include a lot of description in it. What do people means by creative? Imaginative, descriptive, or just a lot of use of complex sentence and paragraph structure with extended vocab?

I cannot imagine that they’d be self-taught… good writing style is learned, and not automatically developed.

In the story I’m writing for NaNoWriMo, I have a character who constantly compliments people… but I’m having a hard time coming up with a million things to say.
They can be generic, along the lines of “Oh, that’s your real name? How pretty” or something o.O

Free govt grant for writing a novel. where can I apply and get the appliction for this?
I am writing a novel and I dont want to send off for a cd that tells me about all the free grants out. I already know I want a grant for writing a book. I just need to know what govt office I need to call or who to write to an request the application to be mailed to me. I just need the application itself not all that other stuff the internet offers. I just want the application for the grant itself. with application in my hands, I can handle the rest.

Tips& ideas for writing a novel?
Can someone give me any ideas for what to write a novel on. I’m currently stuck on two categories I would like the novel to be on; murders, stuff like that and stuff like hurricane survival or tsunami. Stuff that will make the readers feel a tear to their eyes. And something gripping.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
