Novel Writing’
For those who have written a novel or two?
I understand that some novelists use outlines and some just go with the flow, and the beauty of novel writing is that there is no right or wrong way how to write a novel. But I am curious about three things for those of you that have written a novel before. How did you make sure or estimate that what you planned to write would turn into a full-length novel? I have already outlined my story I have 20-25 basic scene cards, I plan to write something in between the scenes that I have already planned, but I fear that I will write the whole story and only come up with 10,000 words or so. And how do you write/divide the book into chapters? When I think of my story I don’t really think in chapters. And what is your method on how to create characters that your readers will love and/or care about and are believable?
Thanks in advance!

What is the format of writing a “light novel?”?
Light novels are the Japanese equivalent of a young adult aimed book. My question pertains to how many pages it normal is and whether it is in 1st or 3rd person.

I’m writing a novel. Do you think it would be cool to win a mechanical bull in a poker game?
Like, the women kicks this guy’s butt at poker and wins the mechanical bull he has in his bar.
Okay, maybe I should elaborate. This is west Texas. She beats this codgy old fart in a poker game and wins his bull and puts it in HER bar. She’s a boots-wearing butt-kicking smoking hot cowgirl

How should I do this in the novel I am writing?
I want these people to get stranded on an island and i want them to live their for the rest of their lives. would that be dumb and would that be possible to write about without it sounding to stupid? And is it possible that they are never found on their deserted island and they just live there for the rest of their lives?
