Questions

I really love to write and I’m pretty good at it. But whenever I try to write a story or something I start off good but always end up throwing it away–I can never seem to finish it.

Sometimes I have a good idea that I really like but it’s just hard for me to write a story about and keep going. I like creative writing, but now I’ve almost given up because I can’t even write a short story. HELP!!! What should I do?
Any good creative writing websites to help me get started? Books?

I’m curious how creative writing instructors at colleges and universities handle students who write about really disturbing things and who seem potentially dangerous to themselves and others? Are instructors privy to students’ mental health records? Do they let such students get away with violent or disturbing writing in an effort NOT to stir too much trouble? Do you become proactive in trying to help these students? Do you undergo training to deal with problem students? As a creative writing student at a university, I often see disturbing stuff brought into workshops. I’m wondering what the profs think of all this. Thanks to any answers!

Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me which universities are the best (anywhere) for creative writing? I’m not interested in any universities in ontario because they dont offer the type of courses I want. I was also wondering if maybe there are schools specifically for creative writing? Please help me out, I have to apply in Dec, and I have no idea where I’m going, I just know that I want to write, because writing is my life, and I cant see myself doing anything else. Thanks.

I have a small background in magazine journalism but my new job requires no writing at all, except for emails.

I would like to start doing some creative writing but I don’t know where to start, as in, what do I write about, and whether it’s actually worth bothering with or not. I’d probably be more inclined to do it if there was a competition or group I could join online or something like that.

Does anyone do any writing or their own, if so, how did you get started? And what have you gotten out of it?

Im based in London have worked as a secretary for more than 10 years and have an HND in Business Studies but am tired of admin work and office politics and would like to do something more creative- change careers.

I write in my spare time and have attended an advanced writing course for the past 3 years and am writing a novel. I would like to see if I could train to teach creative writing in further education colleges etc or and English /English literature. I would also be grateful if I could get any info on what qualifications you need to be able to teach English as a first language and Basic literacy skills and ESOL.

okay, does anyone have any creative ideas for promoting cerel? its for school and i have to say why i think breakfest is important. can someone help me, like write a script or something for me to say. but i really just want creative ideas!!
