i’m a total sucker 4 it too. why sure i can recommend one….. or maybe some! hehe

okay, have you ever heard/ read any of tamora peirce.(i think thats how you spell her last name.)? well, if you haven’t her whole serie/ series cuz she had a lot is about that. knights, romance, adventure….. you get the picture.

    the first is :
    alanna: the first adventure.

i don’t want to give away the plot but its about a girl who wants to become a knight. but it is almost impossible because girls of corse can’t be knights. unless they pretend to be a boy…..(it just gets better from there but you got to read it otherwise it just isn’t the same!)

well after i read that book i was hooked!!!! that series is called the lioness series. but her other series is connected to the kingdom of…. i can’t remember. but they are all connected which makes it soo cool cuz you can follow alanna’s life and then the life of a friend of alanna’s(also full of romance. that series is called the imortals)

i’m blabbing but here’s a good site to look at:

i haven’t read :the circle of magic series but it is not connected to the lioness, the immortals, the protector of the small, or the tricksters series books.
they’re really good. not kiddish at all.

i hope you give it a try! I liked the books soo much. I couldn’t put them down.

    hope it helped!

    good luck! (0_o)

You should read Phillipa Gregory, she has written several
    “The Other Boelyn” etc.

One medieval romance book that I love is Princess of Fire by Shannon Drake, it’s an older book and you may have to find it in a used bookstore. But it is so good! In fact she has several others but that’s my favorite.

Another more current romance author is Gaelen Foley who writes medieval romances. She is also very good.

If you would like historical fiction with romance in it, Elizabeth Chadwick has written several books in that time period. ‘Greatest Knight’, ‘The Champion’ and ‘Daughter of the Grail’ were all fantastic stories set in medieval times.

Conversely, if you want a romance set in medieval times, Julie Garwood has written several romances about English gentlewomen who marry English or Scottish lords. ‘The Prize’, ‘The Gift’ and ‘Ransom’ all spring to mind.

Sir Walter Scott’s Ivanhoe has chivalry and romance in it.

I really enjoyed Julie Garwood’s Medieval romances like: The Bride, Gentle Warrior, Honor’s Splendour, The Prize, Ransom, Saving Grace, The Secret and The Wedding.

Amanda Quick (who is Jayne Ann Krentz) wrote some really good romance novels set in Medieval times. A couple that I’ve read are Desire and Mystique.

Georgette Heyer wrote some, too. The majority of her books are set in Regency times, but there is The Conqueror which was good.

Jo Beverley wrote Dark Champion and The Shattered Rose.

Elizabeth Lowell wrote a Medieval romance series that I enjoyed: Untamed, Forbidden, Enchanted.

It’s rather dark, but Parris Afton Bonds wrote Sweet Enchantress.

Johanna Lindsey wrote some good Medieval romances like Defy Not the Heart, A Gentle Feuding, Joining, The Haardrad family series (Fires of Winter, Hearts Aflame, Surrender My Love) and others.

Rebecca Brandewyne’s Swan Road is very good, too.

Catherine Coulter wrote some enjoyable Medieval romance novels like her song series that includes Chandra, Firesong, Earthsong, and Secret Song. She also wrote the trilogy that includes Lord of Hawkfell Island, Lord of Raven’s Peak and Lord of Falcon Ridge.

Jude Deveraux wrote Black Lyon, The Conquest, and The Heiress and more. She also wrote a series I really enjoyed called the Velvet series: The Velvet Promise, Highland Velvet, Velvet Song and Velvet Angel.

Mary Jo Putney is a good writer who wrote Uncommon Vows.

There are many more, but I hope this helps.

Also, Julie Garwood has a lot of historical romances set in this time period that you might like. Almost all of them center on some kind of nobility. You can check out her site at. Hope that helps.

Check out Jackie Ivie. She’s with Zebra, out of Kensington. Her stuff is medieval time period, with highlanders and chieftans and lots of good romance. This woman can make you really feel it!!!
