Can anyone recommend a good science fiction novel?

I have to do an essay thing on a science fiction book.
I have never really liked science fiction THAT much, so can anyone suggest some good sci fi books? FOR A TEENAGER.

(leave a little summary thing if you can plz. :D )
thanks.

I, Robot? It’s for the lazy people since there was a movie on it. Or Jurassic Park.

    i am legend.
i watched the movie, it was good, so i’m thinking the books must be.it’s basically about a scientist/doctor try to cure the world of a disease

zoe’s tale. Takes place in space on some sort of war ship? I just started reading it myself, and it’s gotten very good reviews.

‘Ender’s Game’ by Orson Scott Card is an excellent but easy read. It’s essentially about a genetically-enhanced boy named Ender who is sent to Battle School to learn how to fight and defeat an alien race which is apparently a threat to Earth. We see how he grows from a six-year-old to a rather hardened, world-weary twelve-year-old, how he is used as a pawn and comes to realise this and how his equally gifted elder siblings play a part in the whole situation.

    The crysalids by John Wyndham.

Summary: A world destroyed by nuclear warfare, humanity tries to rebuild civilization, but they are constantly plagued by mutated creatures and other strange things.
