Question #10:Translating my works in English, what should I do?I am married, live in Alencon, it's my second marriage (my first husband Charles died). With my second husband Henry I had a daughter, Jeanne. (We had a son, Jean, but he died as a baby). My parents educated me well, they were well off, and I had the best tutors, I even learned Latin. I wrote since early childhood, both poems and prose, for myself. I am very religious, so I wrote devotional and secular poetry. At last I published a a two-volume collection of my works, which included plays, lyrics, and longer poems. Then I wrote one more play ("La comedie de Mont-de-Marsan"), two long poems: Le navire ("The ship"), Les prisons. Then I wrote a collection of tales called Heptameron des nouvelles. I am fairly well known in France. But abroad, alas, they know only my Heptameron des nouvelles! Most of my poems and letters are not translated into English, for example. I'd like them to be, it will bring new audience to me, but I don't know where to start or what to do. Can the French government provide a grant for this purpose or something? What should I do?Question #11:Can you explain to me what this poet is explaining throughout this poem, im not understanding everything?Besides the obvious technological and architectural advances, only one thing has really changed between our generations:We now live in an America where blacks are not only allowed the right to vote but can become the Redeemer President of the United States Otherwise, we still live in an America where the audacity to openly enjoy the pleasures of sex and being respected for wisdom are contradictions without reconciliation We still live in an America where the economy collapses while the masses are consumed with preventing the rights of anyone with a fancy for anything out of the ordinary We still live in an America where rotting leaves, tufts of straw, and debris are found in more homes than poetry books We still live in an America where Christ and Dracula provide both excitement and fear for restless lives longing for a simple touch We still live in an America where the impact of urbanization reaches out to the common person more than the obscene nature of poetry We still live in an America where writing about prostitution is considered trashy and profane We still live in an America where poets have to work while publishing to survive financial difficulty unless they are fashioned like Shakespeare We still live in an America where, unless you belong to a church, you are a religious skeptic believing in nothing We still live in an America where overt sexuality, siding with the barnburners, and authoring disreputable books limit poets to a vagabond lifestyle We still live in an America where breaking tradition and the boundaries of poetic form are considered the trademarks of a pretentious ass We still live in an America where everything from thieves to dwarfs to fog to beetles deserve validity We still live in an America where books cannot prevent war and the sick and wounded need healing We still live in an America where not everyone can appreciate the beauty of immigration, crowded streets, brutal differences, urban affection We still live in an America where the same sun that once invigorated your passion continues to provide us with the beauty of life worth fighting for We still live in an America where America still lives in us Question #12:Wrote a controversial poem, what should I do?I am 38, married, it's my second marriage (my first husband died). With my second husband Henry I had a daughter, Jeanne. Then, I became pregnant again and had a son, Jean. He was born July 7 but died just months later. I was grief stricken. My parents educated me well, they were well off, and I had the best tutors, I even learned Latin. I wrote since early childhood, both poems and prose, for myself. I am very religious, so I wrote devotional and secular poetry. After my son's death I wrote a poem, and called it "Mirror of the Sinful Soul". I talked to Christ in it: "And now I can call thee son, father, spouse, and brother." I talked about sweet virgin Mary, who lost her son, too. I allowed it to be published, hoping that it would be a consolation to people in similar circumstances. But it started a row of controversy. Theologians announced it a heresy. Some churchman said that I should be sewn into a sack and thrown into the Seine. Some students satirised me in their amateur play and called me a "fury from Hell". In addition to my family loss, I now have this! What should I do?Question #13:Please give me your opinion on this poem?I just wrote this a minute ago so I haven't revised it at all. I just want to know that I'm getting my message across without confusion. It's definitely not my best poem but any opinion helps. I have a poem published and read some of poetry at school and family events so I can take criticism. My poems usually don't rhyme either I think that's why I need opinions on this one.At night I lie awake in bed And no one knows the tears I've shed Pain is tearing at my heart Yet no one knows the hurt I cart I shed a few tears and then a few more Now I'm physically aching at my core Because where she finds her serene bliss Is in closed eyes and opened wrists She confides in me but I'm to weak For of my own troubles I do not speak I keep it all locked away But she pours it out to me every day Still no one finds time to make time But if they only knew what's on my mind How do I help her when I can't help myself? Sometimes I don't know why I hide in such stealth Question #14:Hey guys do anybody know of a Poetry publishing company.?And the telephone number of the company. Thanks Question #15:What is the best way to publish a book of dramatic monologues?Original Scripts? Original Poetry. Bless you!Question #16:can a poem have every line rhyme and still be respected?I am taking an Eng class and we are learning about various forms of poetry. I realize the rules for poems are very obscure, but I also know there are certain rhyme schemes that are considered standard in the industry (aabb, abba, aaba, abab,) Of all the rhyme schemes that I have seen in this class, I have yet to see a rhyme scheme of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Now that might seem silly, but I wrote a poem that I put a lot of thought into and it flows very well with that rhyme scheme. I have thought of changing the words but it is difficult not to take away from the poems originality. Does anyone know of any published poems that were written with a rhyme scheme like that? thanksQuestion #17:i have to get my father's book published. He writes poetry in hindi.
