Creative Writing - poetry books Questions

Question #1:

Recommend any literature about disaster?

For my class we're trying to compile lists of books, poetry, and short stories about or related to natural disasters. They could even just have a nice message for people who have been through disasters, or be written by people who have been through a disaster. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Question #2:

Beatty, Faber, And Montag... What the hell!?

What's the difference between Beatty's "keeping people happy" method and Faber's 3 pts. of happiness(quality of info., leisure time to think, and the right to act on what we learn)??? Does "contemporary society" have these three points? And how do Beatty and Faber differ, besides their belief and opinions about the books? One more thing... Why did those two crazy ladies (ms. bowles and ms. phelps) freak out when Montag read poetry, and why the hell would Bradbury make them react that way (basically, what do their reactions mean?)

Question #3:

Finding a job with Asperger's Syndrome?!?

How do I find a job that I can do well but alone?

I already tried looking into library jobs..but there aren't any I qualify for. Everytime I get a job, no matter how much I love the actual job, I have serious communication issues no matter what. I misunderstand everything apparently and automatically assume everyone hates me. I can't seem to break out of it.

*I am horrible at math and science although science intrigues me
*I am a published author of two poetry books but I seem to have hit a writers block and make very little royalties on my first two
I'd love to go to college but cannot afford it. I was denied financial assistance

Question #8:

Please Help: POETRY.?

What does this poem say about determination?

This Was My Brother by Mona Gould

This was my brother
At Dieppe,
Quietly a hero
Who gave his life
Like a gift,
Withholding nothing.

His Youth..his love..
His enjoyment of being alive..
His future, like a book
With half the pages still uncut.

This was my brother
At Dieppe.
The one who built me a doll house
When I was seven.
Complete to the last small picture frame.
Nothing forgotten.

He was awfully good at fixing things,
At stepping into the breach when he was needed.

That's what he did at Dieppe;
He was needed.
And even death must have been a little shamed
At his eagerness

Question #9:

I need to Write a Poem About "Death Of A Salesman"!! HELP!!?

ok so my assignment is to write a poem about "Death of a salesman", but it is strict, this is the exact question:

Assignment: Write a "Willy Loman" poem, in close imitation of the poem "Richard Cory". The number of lines, the length of the lines, the rhyme scheme and the meter should all be the same, and there should be a reversal---some surprise twist--- at the end. the poem should also make a point of some kind about willy and his life.

so i need to make it about Willy Loman from the book "Death of a salesman" and it has to resemble this poem as closely as possible, the more vivid words and accurate info about willy and his life the better the mark....

so i was hoping that maybe someone already did something like this? and can give me theirs and ill just change it up? or if you have a few min, and your good at this maybe write me one and then ill just edit it ?? ANYTHING WILL HELP PLEASEEE I AM SOOO BAD AT POEMS!!!! WITHOUT YOU I WOULD GET A ZERO!!!!!!!!!

here is the "Richard Cory" Poem

btw i can plagiarize! cuz no1 will be checking, 100%

Question #11:

What kind of things do you usually read in your spare time?

Examples: Tabloids / Celeb magazines (People, Seventeen, Rolling Stone, etc.); English literature; Poetry; Blogs; How-to books (ie. cooking, gardening, atuorepair, etc.); Fiction; Fun magazines (ie. The Advocate, Science for Teens, fashion magazines, cars, etc.); Magazines (ie. National Geographic, etc.); Newspapers ; Academic peer-reviewed university journals or university texts; Self-help books; Websites of interest

Question #12:

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS?

ok...I have kinda started liking this girl who is new at my school...we don't talk much but we actually look at each other a lot...as in, sometimes I catch her looking at me and she catches me looking at her...she doesn't smile when she is looking at me but kinda looks at me for a few seconds, deep in the eyes and then starts looking downwards...she has also approached me quite a few times to ask random questions that she could have asked anyone...sometimes she goes aww whenever I do or say something..like when she lost her book and I found it and gave it to her, she said aww and thanked me. One day, I was quite depressed and so I went to the school lounge to relax because I had a free period. Suddenly she walks in and goes, "Hey..you have a free period too...yay..but why didn't you come down here before" I told her I had to go to the library so I left. Another day, I wanted to be alone and so I was sitting in the school's lounge writing my poetry. Sudddenly, she walked in and so I picked up my bag and prepared to leave..then she said, "Dude, you can stay here.." and then I told her that I wanted to be alone and then she said, "Aww, I am really sorry." but she really didn't ask me if I was ok or not..sometimes she laughs at me when I do something stupid or look stupid...and she is somewhat like this dreamy-girl person who is quite unusual at times and says 'thanksy' instead of thanks to me and "don't you worry boy". I usually stay quite and am shy so I don't go striking a random conversation with her...ok, I know all this is not enough but does any of this give any signs of whether she likes me or not..or how she feels about me?? I really don't know and sometimes I feel that I am freaking her out by staring/looking at her a lot sometimes in class. Should I go ahead and add her in Facebook or something? Thanks a lot for answering everyone.

Question #13:

Are there any poems about books?

I am doing a poetry project and need a poem about books, preferably something by a published poet, but it doesn't HAVE to be. I would really appreciate the help. (:

Question #14:

how about another shot of courage?

to examine the evenings dial a tribe
with an injun dog we flow untethered
dangling un punctured un punctuated by stilletto heels
come hold my words that spill on linen tablecloth
recklessly careen into a poetry reading at a used book store
only to have eyebrows raised
in polite conversation i stutter
misconstrued dimly viewed askew.
that the cat i let out of the bag is an ocelot
not a taby.
that manipulation of my creative juice
will lead to a stain, or scar.
precision reserved for surgical strikes
caution thrown to the wind,
devil may care.

Question #15:

why most human beings turn away in disbelief?

Moses and Jesus and Mohammad ( peace be upon them all ) had power from God to Challenge the blasphemers

Moses time where the magic was the most popular so God gave Moses the stick and with it he open the red sea and walk thru with his people.

Moses said, "Certainly not. My Lord is with me and He will certainly guide me." (63) We sent a revelation to Moses saying, "Strike the sea with your staff." The sea was rent asunder and each side stood high up like a huge mountain. (64) Then We brought the two parties closer. (65) We saved Moses and all the people with him (66) and drowned the other party. (67) In this there was certainly evidence (of the Truth), but most of them did not have any faith. (68) Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. (69)

Jesus time where the medical and medicine is the most popular so God made him the best doctor knowledged so he did the following

When God said, "Jesus, son of Mary, recall My favors to you and your mother. (Recall) how I supported you by the holy spirit, made you speak to people from your cradle and when you grew up, taught you the Book, gave you wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel. (Recall) when, by My will, you made a sculpture of a bird out of clay, blew into it, and it turned into a real bird by My Will. (Recall) how, by My will, you healed the deaf, the lepers, and raised the dead. (Recall) when you came to the Israelites in the house with clear miracles and I saved you from their mischief, even though the disbelievers among them said, "This is obviously magic". (110) (Recall) when I inspired the disciples to have faith in Me and My Messenger. They said, "We have accepted the faith. Lord, bear witness that we have submitted ourselves to Your will" (111) (Recall) when the disciples said, "Jesus, son of Mary, can your Lord send us a table full of food from heaven?" and you replied, "Have fear of God if you are true believers". (112) They said, "We only wish to eat therefrom to comfort our hearts, to know that you have spoken the Truth to us, and to bear witness to it along with the others." (113)

Mohammad time where the poetry is the most popular at that time so Gos reveled to him the Quran
which no mankind can do one page thou Mohammad was illiterate person,

Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; (2) the pious who believe in the unseen, attend to prayer, give in charity part of what We have granted them; (3) who have faith in what has been revealed to you and others before you and have strong faith in the life hereafter. (4) It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. (5)

(87) Say, "If all human beings and jinn were to come together to bring the equivalent of this Quran, they could not do so, even if they all were to help each other. (88) We have mentioned in this Quran all kinds of examples for the human being, but most human beings turn away in disbelief

with all the true a bove poeple turn a way
