Question #4:

Ideas Improve My Presentation?

Ok, so I need help for a presentation on Herodotus. In case you haven't heard of him he was a Greek historian. He traveled the world when he was young, and learned a lot about the cultures of the countries he visited. He then wrote the Histories, a book about the Greco-Persian war and the countries he visited. So... not the most interesting topic. However, I am focusing on the fact he said a lot of stupid things. (The Nile River was fueled by a melting glacier) I have currently made two power points: one on Herodotus himself, and one on the Histories. I am currently photo shopping pictures to make a digital book of the dumbest things he has said. However, I am still unsure. I pride myself on always having a cool, different and creative project, but have gone blank on this. Does anyone have ideas to jazz it up? Thank you so much!

Question #5:

A good topic for a creative essay?

I have to do a creative essay for school
Now I love fantasy and wanted to write about soemthing in that genre, but I'm having trouble thinking of ideas

I don't want to do something overdone like witches, wizards, vampires, werewolves ect.

Any ideas?

Question #6:

Environmental topics for paper?

I am stuck on a topic for an environmental paper I have to write for a senior level college course. It a creative writing of sorts, but I have been in the biology world for so long that I cannot fathom writing anything that doesn't follow the strict scientific paper outline. So I come to you all holy Yahoo Answers, what are some good environmental topics out there that arn't overly used and still slightly interesting.

A bit about things i am interested in that could possibly morph into good topics. I work and train horses, I am an avid cyclist, I enjoy photography and exploring country roads. I go to a rural university. I am actively involved in both MN and WI environmental programs. I knit more then the average grandmother.

I would like something closely related to my interests so I can be enthusiastic about it. I am sick, sick SICK of Wolves on the endangered species list, "going green" and lead tackle (being I wrote a 32 page paper on it last semester, and it was anything but creative writing)

I look forward to hearing what you can come up with.

Question #7:

creative essay title help?

I'm writing an essay comparing two short stories I read by Joyce Carol Oates.. Doll: A Romance of the Mississippi, and So Help Me God. The topic main topic is women's violence towards men, specifically by seemingly innocent young women. Any creative title ideas??

Question #8:

Which would be a better essay?

So I have a topic of "describe your most memorable encounter with any creative medium."

Would it be better to write about:
a-how our wind ensemble went to a festival and really screwed up on a song, because we choose to stay up late the night before (it was last school football game of the season) and how that taught me valuable lessons, such as having your priorities straight
b-when we played Gustav's First Suite, and how we did really well at the end of the year concert, and playing the end of the first movement feels absolutely amazing when we focus and put our hearts into it. (not quite sure how to describe the feeling-it's one of those indescribable, you have to live it, type of things though)

And I have a word limit of 250 words. Which topic would come out better?

Thanks in advance!

Can a person's query be rejected on the basis that they do not have any previous credentials?

I have written a novel and am currently in the long (dreadful) process of editing it. The thing that may be a problem if I so choose to approach the topic of publishing is the fact that I do not have any credentials. I am seventeen, and don't have any small time credentials, nor in college exploring creative writing or English studies. I am actually a nursing student. The only thing remotely creative I have done are drama classes. Does anyone know if this may hurt me when I approach literary agents?

Question #16:

Asian culture project?

For my humanities class
So this is what my humanities teacher told me:

You will have four weeks to prepare and create this work. It should show that effort. A three-page essay typed the night before will not suffice.

The Assignment:
Choose a subject about an Asian culture before 1985 that interests you. Formulate a research question, answer the question, and present your answer.

Suggestions:
•Consider the five aspects of human nature that we have been exploring. Your research question should tie the culture you are exploring to one of those aspects.
•Your results must be presented to the teacher and shared with the class in some appropriate way. There is a wide range of formats by which you may present your results. A standard essay will need to be at least six typed pages (12 point Times New Roman or 11 point Arial font, double spaced, 1 inch margins). For an essay, the class presentation might take the form of a five-minute oral report. But there are many other possibilities. You could cook a recipe, create a diorama, or teach a sport. Be creative.
•Whatever format you use, you must submit your references in a Works Cited Page in standard MLA format. If your presentation is not written, it must also be accompanied by an outline of its content.

In other words, I need a topic about anything related to Asian culture before 1985.....help me think of a topic...please? (-_-)"

I'm writing a creative essay for school on this topic and I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas because I'm not that creative =[

Question #19:

Need help with main points on college app essay?

Here's the writing topic:

A sense of community is an extremely important aspect of a college campus. Please describe how your attitudes and actions toward others will contribute to a welcoming, respectful, and enriching environment for all members of the CU community.

In addition, feel free to attach comments about your academic readiness that would be useful in the evaluation process. Include information such as your educational aspirations, travel and work experience, creative talents, factors affecting your academic record, and any other information that might be of use and interest to the admission committee.

How would you answer a question like this in the most concise and confident way possible?
Should I give some personal experiences about how I've created a better community or what I can do to improve theirs?
**CU is University of Colorado at Boulder**

Question #20:

Do you have the creative talent and passion to co-author a book? Would you like to?

I am currently working on a project with another person, but my creative side is still not satisfied. I am looking for someone to write a novel with. Topics, style, and length to be determined. All serious inquiries will be considered.
Thanks for all of the answers. Apparently I have mislead you guys into what I'm looking for. I'm not looking to write the next best-seller, or even really something to be published. I would, however, like to write something and finish it, which I can't seem to be able to do on my own. I certainly wouldn't expect someone to beg to write with me, rather, I am nearly begging someone to let me write with them. Apparently this is not something that most people are willing to be open to, and I can understand that. I do appreciate the comments, though!
