Creative Writing - creative writing tips Questions

Question #1:

Anyway to cure writers block?

I'm in a creative writing class and i just can't seem to get a story out of my head. I've started about 6 different stories all with different characters and plots but about half way down my first page I can't figure out what else to write.
Can anyone give me some writing tips? Maybe something to spark my imagination?

what are some good poetry writing tips?

i love to write...but it always seems my poetry comes out corney. i want my poetry to sound more put together, more creative...and to have more meaning, but it's like i can't get my thougths in order so it always comes out choppy and like it is just stuck together...got any tips?

Question #3:

Is this "creative writing" piece good?

(It was supposed to be about a story that the reader finds out the opposite of what they were thinking at the very end.)

The vast expanse that lay ahead was truly of magnificent size. A field, dotted with trees, stretched for miles in all directions. In the great distance, a range of rocky, snow-capped mountains remained barely visible. Wisps of clouds surrounded the mountains as if they attracted their own weather. The colossal peaks and summits loomed over a calm river that glittered in the sunlight.

On either side of the field stood two massive groups of men. They were ordered into a symmetrical system of rows and columns, and remained facing each other. One army was holding a tall pole that displayed a white symbol sewed into a black background. The other waved a banner with a black symbol sewn onto a white background. The shields that the front lines carried had their corresponding symbol and color painted onto them. Most of the men were fitted in heavy, metallic suits. They held in their hands a variety of swords, maces, spears, and axes. In the back rows stood a few cavalrymen, with each horse having its own armor to protect it and its rider. The warriors’ armor glinted like the river, producing a blinding light that reflected the hot, burning sun.

The armies were not only composed warriors. Each side possessed a king and queen; they were the ones shouting commands. Two men in white robes stood on either side of the king and queen. Their robes were embroidered with delicate gold patterns, and they each carried a staff. The tip of this was carved into the shape of a cross, and each of them had on a hat of sorts — the sides of the hat rose to a peak, and it was also embroidered with gold. They were bishops. Also in the back rows were the horsemen, and lastly, the rokh — the Persian word for "chariot." The charioteers were the auxiliary men, used as a reserve.

The King of White took advantage of the opportunity; he commanded one of the front-line men to advance. Then the King of White took his turn, and this process repeated. The battle had commenced and was now a full war.

After some time, many had been slain. The remaining men stood still, ready to listen to their king’s orders. The White Queen maneuvered herself to be at the perfect spot, and then it happened. The opposing king — the Black King — knelt to the ground in submission and defeat. He thrust his sword into the earth and surrendered, knowing the particular rules of the game.

"Checkmate," said the White King.

Question #4:

How to get a creative blow up ASAP?

Currently I am having homestudies instead of being at school and to keep from having to go back there I have set up a plan. I don't like going to school because the people there are snobs who look down on anyone with a personality or even who isn't straight. I hate those kind of people the most. SO, now I have until christmas (january at the latest), to improve all my skills in drawing, writing, acting, dancing and singing so that I can be submitted by a magazine/get a part in a play/get accepted to a dancing school etc.

Anyone who are willing to help me with any of these things please write me a message! I will be happy for any kind of tips that will help me with this.

I really need to come up with a plan for these things that I want to have accomplished by christmas:

To cry on stage
To do much better in ballet
To learn japanese hiragana, katakana and kanji
To sing better and get a stronger voice
To write with more confidence
And to have found out how the characters in my manga should look like and to have begun sketching for it.

So please, how can i do all this?

Question #5:

Question #6:

Any tips? What to do?

So I love to write. I can come up with great ideas, like I have 7 ideas for a book. I start writing, building characters, and building outlines and then I start the actual writing. I can come up with like a page or so and then like I don’t know what to write. I mean I know what I want to happen, but I can’t think of the vocabulary word or how to word the sentence. Also, I kind of rush when I write and since I’m not that great at vocabulary, I have trouble with describing my characters/scenes. I am in a creative writing class but it’s just like we write for fun… but yeah I really want to write, but it’s sometimes hard for me since I have trouble with those things.

Like for example you can read one of my stories to see what I mean if you want to:

Like see how in the story, I can come up with the idea, but I can’t think of vocabulary words (have trouble with it) and I also have trouble describing….

So my question is does anyone else have this problem? Any tips to help me conquer this? Thanks for any helpful response.

Question #7:

how do you write a monologue?

I have decided to write a monologue for my AS level English coursework. We ar estudying " A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams, and I chose to do a creative writing coursework (because I love CW), writing a monologue for Blanche. Any tips on how to successfully write a monologue? I've never studied Theatre/ drama etc, although I find it really interesting. But I definitely need some urgent advice. It needs to be 1200- 1500 words long, with an explanation/ summarisation of why you wrote what you wrote.
THANK YOU!! :) :)

Question #8:

Does this sound like an Interesting plot?

A Hash-head.
A Musician.
A Stripper.
A Brain.

A Friend.

There all on the look out for a girl who's disappeared. Each of them are going to get unwillingly pulled into something far bigger than they ever thought. A story of love, drugs, friendship, and in the end, sacrifice.

That was my into sheet I handed into my English teacher, because for his class we have to write a fiction story. & me being me, my creative juices started flowing, and I got this idea.
Austin (The friend) and Victoria (Missing Girl) were good friends when they were younger, but they slowly moved apart. Austin was popular, athletic and hansom. Victoria wasn't. People just shift apart.
But once Vic runs away,no one is especially concerned. She wants attention, is all. Thats what they say, but Austin knows something isn't right. He knows something is different this time. So he sets out on a journey to uncover the truth...meeting along the way a set of characters not unlike the people around you. Can he really uncover the mystery in his quiet suburb home? Who are his friends? Who can't he trust? And were is Victoria?

Thats what I have so far...tell me what do you think of it? If you don't like it, tell me. If you do, great. Give me tips on writing, tips on how to start it, anything!
Thanks.

How can I make it easier to chose what I want to do in college?

So I am a senior in high school this year and I'm torn about what I want to go to college for. I have 2 passions. 1. I love writing. I've always enjoyed writing, even in school I love getting writing assignments and I even started writing a book about 4 months ago. I know that I love doing that, but I'm not sure I want to go to college for that right now. 2. I love cooking. I've always loved to help my grandma and my mom cook. I've loved cooking and everything about food since I was little. I really want to go to school for that too. I just really don't know what to do!! I want to do both but I can't. I was thinking that I'd go for Culinary Arts first and then later go for Creative Writing. I thought that's what I wanted to do but I've changed my mind like 4 times. Can you please help me and give me some tips on how to make it a little easier.Thank you!!
