Question #1:College course/degrees where Maths isn't part of the syllabus at all?I started a Journalism degree when I was 20, but had to leave due to illness, over the years I've realised I'm not as good at Journalism as I thought I was back then (it was all wishful thinking haha).I work in a really rubbish entry level dead end job right now and I want to go back to college and get a degree. But I'm not sure what in. Maths really isn't my strong point and I don't want to join a course that has any Mathematics in it whatsoever (if possible!!) Other than Creative Writing and Journalism, what are some courses I can do that do not involve Math? - That isn't technically true, I didn't have a single Journalism class all the while I took that as a major. Question #2:What class and books would you teach if you could choose?I would teach Women's Literature. My syllabus would include :The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende Frida by Hayden Herrera The Good Women of China: Hidden Voices by Xinran Xue and Daughter of the River by Hong Ying p.s. I am not a teacher. Actually, an English-creative writing major. Question #3:How can I find out which books are on the GCSE English Syllabus? My step-son is in Y10 and very vague about what books he's studying. I know they did Northanger Abbey recently, but now he's doing creative writing and has no clue what other texts they might be studying. I'd love to read the books and plays he's studying so that we could talk about them, but can't if I don't know what's coming up!!Are there sites giving these details. The DirectGov site is useless as it's all aimed at careers advice and he's a long way away from that! ** Powered by Yahoo Answers Click link above for correct copyright license. |
